Maintenance and Safety Instructions
The type approvals in accordance with the regulations ECE-R 122 (heating) and ECE-R 10 (EMC) for the Thermo Top Evo water heater apply in the area where the European Directive 70/156/EEC and/or EC/2007/46 (for new vehicle types as from 29/04/2009) is valid.
In environments with combustible vapours, flammable dust and hazardous goods (e.g., petrol stations, tank facilities, fuel store, coal bunkers, timber yard or grain warehouses).
- Do not switch on or operate the heater.
Do not operate the heater in closed rooms that do not have an exhaust extraction unit.
- Do not switch on or operate the heater, also not with programmed heating start.
The heater may not:
- be subjected to temperatures of more than 120 °C (storage temperature). If this temperature is exceeded, the electronics can be permanently damaged.
- unless the water in the heating circuit contains at least 20% of a brand name anti-freeze.
The heater:
- may only be operated with the fuel and the rated voltage specified on the type label.
- must be shut down by switching off immediately and removing the fuse in case of heavy smoking, unusual combustion noises or combustion odours.
Restarting may not be carried out until after the unit has been checked only by Webasto-trained personnel. - The heater is set in the factory with a CO2 value for ideal operation at heights between 0 and 1500 m above sea level. Continuous operation at more than 1500 m above NHN may lead to a high level of production of smoke and soot. To prevent the device from failing and being put at risk, the CO2 value should be adjusted in consultation with Webasto.
- must be checked by a specialist every 2 years or at the start of the heating period at the latest.
Failure to follow the operating instructions and the notes contained therein will lead to all liability being refused by Webasto.
The same applies if repairs are carried out incorrectly or with the use of parts other than genuine spare parts. This will result in the invalidation of the type approval for the heater and therefore of its homologation / ECE type licence.
